2013 Kia Soul Review

Come to Fred Beans Kia of Limerick to test drive the 2013 Kia Soul , recently named Best Total Cost of Ownership Brand  by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. The Soul was first introduced in 2009, and for 2012, Kia has restyled the Soul and given it features that make it more competitive with the likes of the Nissan Cube and the Scion xB.

The 2013 Soul has received a minor facelift, new drivetrains and several new interior features, including the Infinity Sound System. The new 350 watt system has a crispness and clarity of sound, for those of us who appreciate driving with a soundtrack.

Not only does the interior of the 2013 Soul feature radical themes, such as an available houndstooth fabric interior and multi-colored backlit speaker grilles that pulsate to the music's beat, it is also highly functional and fun. Functional features include front and center iPod bins, a dual-shelf glove box, fold flush rear seats and a storage bin under the cargo's area floor. A tilt/telescoping wheel is now standard for 2013 and the improved isolation promotes a quieter cabin.
On to the exterior of this anything but commonplace vehicle...the 2012 Soul has three different trim levels- the Soul, the Soul+, and the up-level Soul! - offer varying visuals, in addition to their atypical names. For 2012 all models received new front and rear fascia and headlamp treatments and a new Moss color option is now available. The Soul has 15-inch wheels, the Soul+ rides on 16-inch wheels, and the Soul! has 18-inch wheels.

The base 2012 Kia Soul  comes with a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Other standard equipment on the very affordable base model includes air conditioning, power windows and locks, tilt/telescoping wheel and a 4 speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3/
Sirius SM audio system with USB and auxiliary ports. All models of the Soul feature six airbags and electronic stability control.

The 2012 Kia Soul base model MSRP starts around $14,000. The top trim Soul! starts just under $20,000, but adding all the options will raise that price to around $23,000. The Soul also boasts an attractive warranty, (10-year/100,000 mile powertrain, 5-year/60,000 mile basic) and competitive resale value.

Come on out to Limerick and take a test drive of the 2012 Kia Soul  with the good folks of Fred Beans Kia. They will help you make an informed decision and introduce you to the car of your dreams.
